LAF Architect Training

Learn to make architecture decisions that keep change coherent

The LAF Architect training is a practical, interactive workshop for people who shape, design, or govern IT architecture. You will work with the Lean Architecture Framework and learn how to guide solution development while keeping it aligned with business goals, the Reference Architecture, and organisational standards.

The training is designed for:

  • Enterprise, solution, and domain architects
  • IT leaders responsible for architecture decisions
  • Professionals involved in designing or governing IT solutions

What you will learn

During the workshop, you will learn how to:

  • use LAF to support continuous transformation;
  • create and apply a Reference Architecture;
  • prepare a Solution Vision to guide solution design;
  • involve architects at the right points in the software delivery process;
  • use standards and architecture governance to keep solutions coherent;
  • measure progress towards architecture and business goals.

LAF 1.6 extends the framework to help architects address this change. The training introduces:

  • Machine-Readable Architecture Context (MRAC): making architecture information usable by software agents;
  • AI-Assisted Solution Vision: considering AI support when preparing a solution vision;
  • AI-related standards: helping keep AI-assisted solutions consistent with organisational architecture;
  • “Architecture blind to AI”: recognising the risk of ignoring AI’s impact on architecture;
  • Architects’ responsibility for machine-readable architecture: keeping its quality and information up to date.

LAF is not a framework for managing AI. It focuses on the architectural and governance implications of AI participation in the software development lifecycle.

A practical, interactive workshop

The training uses workshop-style exercises to help participants apply LAF concepts to architecture challenges. For example, a workshop may explore how to design a new IT environment for a financial organisation.
